Janice M. Stevens

Janice became NBA’s Executive Director in February 2013. In 1991, she founded Professional Administrative Services, a Charlotte, NC based association management and meeting planning firm. Janice has devoted her life and career to the field of association management, and especially the insurance, financial planning and brokerage industry. She and her staff have proudly served NAIFA Charlotte, NAIFA North Carolina and the Charlotte Chapter Society of Financial Services Professionals for over 25 years. In 2006, the firm expanded with the creation of a pre-licensing and continuing education training school, which is directed by a NAIFA Charlotte past president and board member. The school offers live pre-licensing and continuing education classes in the Metro Charlotte area and online classes in all fifty states. Janice serves NBA full time, while her staff works with the firm’s other clients.

Ask her about her greatest career achievement and honor and she will quickly tell you there are two…..being chosen as NBA’s Executive Director and being the recipient of the esteemed and prestigious 2011 C. Carney Smith Award given by NAIFA annually to an Executive Director for outstanding contributions and lifetime achievement to the field of association management and service to the industry.

A native North Carolinian, Janice is an honor graduate of Peace College (now William Peace University) in Raleigh, NC with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. She continued her education at North Carolina State University.

Janice is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and is a past board member of Association Executives of North Carolina. She is also a founding member of the Charlotte Chapter of Association Executives of North Carolina, where she is also a Past President and Vice President of Programs.

A member of Sharon United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC, she has served on the Covenant Council and the Usher Board. She is past chairperson of the Welcoming Ministries Team and the Capital Campaign Special Event. She has also served on the Strategic Planning/Leadership Committee and Public Relations Committee.

Janice has presented association management and leadership workshops at various state and national conventions throughout her career. In 2002, she completed the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) program through the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors. She was the medium local representative on the Association Executive Advisory Council from 2009-2012, serving as Council chair in 2012. In addition, she served as the Local Executive liaison to the NAIFA PAC sub-committee until 2013 and also has served as local executive liaison to various NAIFA National committees throughout her career. ​
